Universal Design for Learning

UDL is a Vision on Teaching and Learning which is not widely known in The Netherlands but which has been met with much success in Belgium and America. UDL has a basic rule that education takes the differences between students into account, right from the start of educational developments. This could be : difficulties due to a disability, or through having a different language background, motherhood, being a top class sporter or though having a job. In addition, the various talents and needs of students are taken into account. The UDL’s first and foremost concern is a flexible curriculum in which students, despite individual differences, are able to optimally study without having to arrange individual adaptations.
