Material provisions

What does Saxion understand to be Material provisions?

Material provisions are provisions to do with accessibility to buildings and accessibility within the buildings, furniture and computer equipment.

Saxion is familiar with the following Material provisions

  1. Parking facilities for the disabled.
  2. Toilets for the disabled
  3. Induction loop
  4. Resting room
  5. Reading pen
  6. Read out loud software
  7. Quiet study room

When is the use of own material provisions allowed?

If a student is used to using particular provisions to support his/her disability (for example: reading pen, Kurzweil, certain software, loop, Braille reader), it can be discussed with the student counsellor during the Admission advice consultation if the use of these provisions is allowed at the study course. As a rule, the student is responsible for the purchase and expenses of these provisions if they are for sole use.

Is it possible to apply for other material provisions?

Material provisions, other than aforementioned, may be necessary for the study. This can be discussed with the student counsellor during the Admission advice consultation. Purchase of other specific provisions involves a consultation with a third party, for example: adjustments for accessibility within the buildings needs to be discussed with staff members of the Facility Service Centre.
