Laptop requirements
Besides your books, you will also need other study materials. Saxion recommends purchasing a good laptop* with camera and microphone. This is necessary because we work with an online learning environment that you must be able to work with both during class, possibly during an exam, at home and at your workplace.
* The minimum laptop requirements are Windows 11 or Mac OS 15-compatible.
Dress code during occasions
In the hospitality sector it is highly valuated to be dressed appropriately for the occasion. Every programme of HBS has its own dress code. You do not have to purchase any clothing yet! You will receive more information about the dress code during the course.
INTRO is coming up and you don't want to miss it! 💚 This is your first week at Saxion and your introduction to your study programme, fellow students and student city. 25 & 26 August, you will go out with your study programme for an unforgettable start to your studies! Curious about your INTRO programme? 📅 You can find it in the INTRO-app.
Your study will start with an introduction programme, which is an important part of your study. The introduction programme will take place on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August 2026.
The introduction programme consists of:
- A introduction with Hospitality Business School and your own programme. At the start on Tuesday you will hear in which class you have been placed.
- An introduction to the study association, Saxion and Deventer.
Explanation of the programme schedule
On Tuesday 25 August, we welcome you at the main hall of Saxion in Deventer at 9:30. This day you will meet your class, fellow students and your study coach. We will round off the morning with a group lunch*. After lunch, you will visit Deventer downtown with your INTRO parent group and study association Viatorem. We close the afternoon with all students with an INTRO dinner.
* Please note: from lunch onwards, participation is only possible with a paid INTRO ticket. The morning programme is accessible with either a free or paid ticket.
Good to know
- You do not need to bring a laptop for the course introduction.
- There are no lockers at Saxion to store valuables, so we advise you to leave them at home as much as possible.
- You can leave your luggage for the overnight stay(s) with the INTRO team.
Enjoy your summer and see you Tuesday 25 August!
