A fresh look at your assignment? Join the International Project Week from the 26th until the 30th of January 2026. During the project week, approximately 150 student teams from technical degree programs of Saxion and of its international partner institutes will work on projects related to these disciplines.
How does it work?
For a one-week period, students will work on company projects. They do this together with pupils from secondary schools and guest students from international schools and universities. Two or three student teams will be allocated to each assignment.
This year, we are (for the first time) not charging a fee for submitting a project in order to keep the barrier to participation as low as possible. We only ask you to give a brief presentation on Monday morning to explain the project. On Friday, you are warmly invited to receive the creative and innovative ideas from the students and to network with them.
Why participate?
- Submitting a project is free of charge. This year, we are (for the first time) not charging a fee for submitting a project to keep the barrier as low as possible. This makes it a cost-effective way to generate new ideas for your organization.
- Let your organization benefit from the creativity and innovative thinking of (inter)national students. They look at your challenges from a fresh point of view and often come up with surprising solutions.
- The International Project Week is the perfect opportunity to connect with motivated students from various fields of study. You get a unique insight into their skills and potential – ideal for future recruitment or internships.
- Participating students come from both domestic and international backgrounds. Their diverse backgrounds provide a wide range of ideas and approaches, helping your organization to think outside the box.
Participate in this years projectweek?
Are you looking for fresh ideas and initiatives for the issues you are dealing with? Or do you want the students to work on a completely new concept? Students can work on issues from an interdisciplinary perspective! In addition, you can come into contact with over 1,200 students during the closing event (in the form of a market); the future of your business.
Submit your assignment here! Each project team consists of students from all academic years and from various degree programs. Thanks to this varied mix of experience levels and technical disciplines, the team members will inspire each other and come up with exciting new approaches. The project leader is an ambitious student, often in his/her final year of study. He or she manages the team and maintains contacts with the company that has given the assignment.
The teams will work on the assignment all week, in consultation with the client. Two teams will work on each assignment. It will be exciting to see if the interdisciplinary teams come up with different solutions for one and the same issue/problem definition and, if so, how and to what extent they differ. But even if they are different, most of the solutions will be of practical use to the client, or will provide inspiration for innovation or optimization. During the closing event at a central location in Saxion, the jury will choose the winning solution.

As students from the technical disciplines cooperate with colleagues from foreign schools and universities, this project week is given an international dimension. Our students work together with colleagues who have different areas of expertise and different backgrounds, just as they will do later in life. This links up well with the many internationally-oriented assignments that will be done in the course of the project week.
For each project, you will have two or three student teams at your disposal, which will come up with different solutions. In addition to the assignment results, the project week offers a unique opportunity to the participating companies, namely: to cooperate in an informal way with our technical students. After all, they are the employees and employers of the future! During the closing event on Friday afternoon, your company and the students who worked on your company's project, will be in the limelight!
There are several awards to be won by the student groups:
- The Onmeunig Circular Design Award is given by the the Circular Innovation and Energy Transition Cluster, a collaborative initiative of Saxion with more than 200 research professionals involved in the development of circular economy and energy transition. - The IPW Award, also given by the organization, is awarded to the project that best represents the spirit of the International Project Week. The winning project is chosen by a jury of more than 20 industry professionals, who take into account the originality of the idea, the quality and relevance of the solution and its potential for implementation.
Global planning
On Monday morning, you present the assignment to the participating groups at Saxion Enschede. After the presentations, the groups will get to work on designing a concept or solution the entire week. These concepts and solutions will be presented to you by all groups on Friday morning. During these presentations it is possible to ask questions about the ideas of the group. After the presentations, there is a closure event, where you can see the ideas and short pitches of all participating groups.
Contact with groups
Contact with groups will be maintained by the project leaders of the different groups. When you have any questions for the group, the project leader will provide answers. In many cases the project-groups will have questions about the assignment as well, or need additional information. Prior to the project week, the project leaders will make an appointment with you to introduce themselves and to discuss the details of the assignment.
After submitting your assignment the organization will contact you for further information. As soon as it’s known you will receive the locations and times.
