Anka Mulder, new President of the Executive Board

Anka Mulder has been appointed by the Supervisory Board as President of the Executive Board, establishing Saxion as the only university of higher education with an all-female Executive Board.

She is currently Vice President of the Executive Board of TU Delft (technical university in Delft) and will succeed Wim Boomkamp. The appointment was announced yesterday to all Saxion staff and students.

Anka Mulder is enthusiastic: ”I think it is really great that I have the opportunity to serve as president of such an excellent university of applied sciences. I am very excited about Saxion’s contacts with the outside world, both in the region as well as international. I look forward to meeting students, colleagues and partners of Saxion.”

Ineke is enthusiastic about the appointment of her new colleague as well: “I am very happy that Anka is joining Saxion. She is a top level manager, who is highly appreciated and has a great deal of knowledge about higher education in addition to her extensive network. On top of that, she is just a great person to work with. She is an excellent match with Saxion and I look forward to our cooperation.”

Anka Mulder's career

Anka studied history at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Groningen University). She worked abroad for a number of years prior to starting at TU Delft in 2003, where she held various positions before she joined the Executive Board. In Delft, she is responsible for education and operational management. She is also an international expert in the field of digital education and is considered one of the most influential people in the field of education in the Netherlands. She also holds several executive management and supervisory positions at knowledge institutions, both at home and abroad.
