In the Fashion and Textile Technologies study programme, you learn how to develop sustainable and innovative textile products. You combine creativity, technology and business while exploring the entire textile value chain, from raw materials and material development to design, production, recycling and sales.

Creativity and innovation

You don’t just use your creativity to design and create cool new products or collections, but also to come up with smart solutions for the challenges facing the fashion and textile world. Think of more sustainable production methods or reducing waste.

Technology as a foundation

Textile is all about technology – and it goes far beyond just clothing! You'll learn how textile materials are created, from raw fibre to finished fabric, and all the possibilities they offer.

Commerce and fair growth

Textile production happens all around the world, often in developing countries. We dive into the supply chain and investigate where products come from. We also calculate labour costs and evaluate choices for production countries. With this knowledge, you'll be able to choose solutions that ensure fair wages and ethical working conditions.

Tools and skills

During the programme, you’ll work with creative tools like Adobe, virtual prototyping, and trend forecasting. You’ll also develop technical skills such as knitting, weaving, and using our textile lab. You'll learn how to design, develop and sell, while critically reflecting on your choices – and learn how to explain those choices convincingly.

This unique and versatile programme covers the entire lifecycle of textiles, from raw materials to finished products and back again. You'll learn how traditional textile materials are made and discover new ways to use them. Imagine charging your smartphone through your sportswear! You'll source products from international partners, develop new sustainable materials and create a collection. Additionally, you'll come up with and implement ideas on recycling.
